Festival of Small Halls: A Night of Live Music at Tarwin Lower

If you’re looking for a magical night of live music in an intimate setting, the Festival of Small Halls is coming to Tarwin Lower, just a short drive from Inverloch! This beloved touring festival brings some of the best folk and contemporary acoustic artists from Australia and abroad to regional halls across the country, offering a unique opportunity to experience world-class performances in a cosy, community atmosphere.

A Celebration of Music and Community

The Festival of Small Halls is more than just a concert—it’s an invitation to connect. Hosted in community halls in small towns across Australia, each event is run by local volunteers who welcome visitors with open arms. The night features outstanding musical performances and a warm, social atmosphere where guests can enjoy supper, chat with friends, and soak in the friendly hospitality that makes these gatherings so special.

The festival’s roots trace back to Prince Edward Island, Canada, where small halls have hosted traditional and acoustic music since 2008. Inspired by this, the festival was brought to Australia, where it continues to flourish, bringing people together through the love of live music.

Meet the Artists

The Autumn Tour 2025 lineup promises an unforgettable evening featuring:

  • Lucy Farrell (UK) – With haunting melodies, sophisticated songwriting, and an enchanting voice, this Kent-born, Canada-based folk artist is carving out a unique space in contemporary English folk music. Her delicate yet powerful performances create an immersive listening experience.
  • Hat Fitz and Cara (AUS) – This high-energy Australian duo blends blues, folk, and roots music into an electrifying performance. With 14 years of worldwide touring under their belt, their synergy and on-stage chemistry create a show that’s impossible to forget.
