Marking its 37th year, this celebrated event will take place over the Easter weekend, from Friday, 18 April to Monday, 21 April 2025. Featuring a dazzling array of contemporary and traditional artworks, the show offers visitors a chance to appreciate and purchase exceptional pieces while supporting a heartwarming cause.
A Good Friday Opening to Remember
The festivities kick off on Good Friday at 7 pm with the official opening night celebrations. Art enthusiasts, locals, and visitors alike are invited to gather, mingle, and immerse themselves in the vibrant creative atmosphere. This exclusive evening is the perfect opportunity to meet some of the artists, learn more about their work, and perhaps even secure a one-of-a-kind masterpiece for your collection.
Art with a Purpose: Supporting Bass Coast Health’s Food Box Program
Beyond its artistic allure, the Inverloch Art Show holds a deeper purpose. Proceeds from the event directly support Bass Coast Health’s Food Box Program, an initiative dedicated to alleviating food insecurity in the local community. The program provides vital food boxes filled with non-perishable staples and toiletries to families facing short-term challenges, ensuring they receive much-needed support during difficult times.
Each food box, valued at approximately $75, is carefully packed and delivered by Inverloch Foodworks. Thanks to the efforts of the Inverloch Art Show Auxiliary, these boxes offer a lifeline to individuals and families, helping them maintain dignity, confidence, and stability as they navigate their challenges.
A Legacy of Giving Back
The origins of this charitable endeavour date back to 1987 when Margaret Atkins, then a Home Economics teacher at Wonthaggi High School, recognised the need for nutritious food support in the community. Initially working under the banner of Save the Children, the fundraiser eventually evolved into an independent initiative in 2011, aligning with Bass Coast Health to ensure all funds raised stayed within the local community.
Today, the Inverloch Art Show continues to embody the spirit of community and generosity, providing a platform for artists to showcase their talent while addressing the needs of those facing food insecurity.
