“People and Places” Art Exhibition at The Hub

If you love art and coastal charm, make your way to Inverloch Hub for People and Places, a captivating exhibition by acclaimed artist Karen Chugg. This showcase of both new and retrospective works invites visitors on a visual journey through landscapes, seascapes, and the human experience.

A Journey Through People and Places

Karen Chugg’s art is deeply influenced by her rich personal and professional background. With a career spanning classical music, social work, and counselling, her paintings reflect a profound understanding of human emotions and the changing beauty of landscapes.

Using a diverse range of mediums—Gouache, Oils, and Soft Pastels—Karen brings a unique vibrancy to her work. Gouache allows for spontaneity, Oils require careful precision, and Soft Pastels create an intense colour experience with direct pigment application. Her inspiration comes from a variety of sources, including:

  • Coastal landscapes: The breathtaking seascapes along the George Bass Coastal Trail
  • Historical photography: Old black-and-white images reimagined with colour and depth
  • Travel experiences: Vivid impressions from Central and South Australia, Hobart, and New Zealand

Karen’s ability to capture both natural beauty and emotional depth ensures that People and Places is more than just an art exhibition—it’s an immersive experience.
